NAS WILDWOOD AVIATION MUSEUM - Rio Grande, NJ
NAS Wildwood Aviation Museum is located at historic Hangar #1 at the Cape May County Airport, which served as a World War II dive-bomber training center. The museum is dedicated to the 42 airmen who perished while training at NAW between 1943 and 1945. The museum is a 92,000 sq. foot all wooden structure which is listed on the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places at the National Significance Level. The Aviation Museum now boasts over 26 aircraft displays as well as exhibits of military memorabilia, engines, photographs and more. Additionally, the Franklin Institute of Philadelphia has provided NAS Wildwood with a wealth of interactive exhibits that allow visitors to discover the science of flight. The museum also features a food vending area as well as a recently expanded gift shop. The museum regularly hosts activities including fly-ins, aviation festivals, big band concerts, swing dances, historical lectures and school field trips and senior tours.The museum is open daily 9 am to 5 pm during the spring, summer and fall.
