A campus of the College of Central Florida. Clad in travertine marble, the Appleton has a permanent collection of more than 24,000 objects including European, American, Asian, African, pre-Columbian, Modern and Contemporary art and artifacts. The 81,610-square-foot museum is an award-winning contemporary interpretation of classical architecture featuring 30,000 square feet of gallery space devoted to the collection, with an additional 4,000 square feet devoted to temporary exhibitions. The Artspace, an interactive art-making space for all ages, is open for use during the museum’s operating hours.
