MEMPHIS BROOKS MUSEUM OF ART—Memphis
As the oldest, largest, and only major world art museum in Tennessee, the 100-year-old Brooks Museum plays a leading role in the cultural development of the Mid-South. It's permanent collection of 9,000+ works includes ancient Greek and Roman works, Renaissance masterpieces, English portraiture, American painting and decorative arts, contemporary art, a survey of African art, a new hands-on family art gallery, and traveling exhibitions. Visit the museum on Wednesdays for free admission from 10 am to 8 pm. It also has a full schedule of films, talks, family activities, and special events. Visitors age 6 and under are always free.
