REEDVILLE FISHERMEN'S MUSEUM — Reedville
The Reedville Fishermen’s Museum, on the banks of Cockrell Creek, honors the watermen and women who make their living off of the lower Chesapeake Bay and its waterways. The Museum has a campus of four structures, an open-air pavilion and a pier that is home to four historic vessels – two deadrises, a skipjack, and a purse boat – all important boats in the fishing, oyster and crab industries. The Museum hosts many events throughout the year including one of the best oyster roasts on the Northern Neck, a Christmas tour, an antique and traditional small boat show, a 4th of July extravaganza for the whole community, lectures, special tours, and other unique events. The galleries are filled with hands-on activities and interesting exhibits that help visitors “discover” Reedville and our lasting connection to the water.
